Sometimes Dr. Ken is unable to find any information due to destroyed, lost, or lack of records information kept by the piano manufacturer. If this is the case, your payment will be fully refunded to you.

After completing your payment on a secure server at PayPal you will be redirected to a form to fill in with your piano details.

You will need this information: (Please submit as much as you know to ensure correct dating)

1. The brand name of the piano like "Steinway," or "Baldwin" etc.

2. The Serial Number (This is a bit more difficult since people sometimes have
trouble locating the serial number on old pianos)

Dr. Ken needs the serial number.

Locating your old piano serial number:

VERTICAL Pianos
Consoles, Spinets and Studio uprights

a. Lift up the cover behind the music rack. The serial # can be either on the "pinblock" (the wood 'thing' that runs along the entire top of the piano).
OR, it might be either stenciled in black or in 'relief' on the "HARP" itself (the steel frame that holds all the strings and is a brass or possibly gold color).
b. It could be on the actual rear of the piano between the wood posts which hold up the instrument

HORIZONTAL Pianos:
Grands, babygrands, parlor grands, concert grands, etc.

a. The serial number is always stenciled or in high-relief on the physical harp of the instrument, that is, the steel frame on which all the strings are attached. You may have to removed the music rack by sliding it out of the front of the piano.
